About The Position

The Home Health (HH) Administrator is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and daily operations of the Home Health agency. Appointed by and accountable to the governing body, the Administrator serves as the primary liaison between the agency and its governing board. This leader provides oversight of clinical and business operations, ensuring that high-quality, cost-effective, and compliant home-based care is delivered to all patients. The Administrator ensures clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, fiscal stewardship, and an exceptional consumer and employee experience. As designated by Federal and State standards, the HH Administrator functions as the official _Administrator_ for the agency and, where permitted, may also fulfill responsibilities of the Clinical Manager under CMS Conditions of Participation.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing or a healthcare-related field (Required) OR
  • Equivalent combination of 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • 5 years of progressive experience leading home-based care operations or related healthcare operations (Required)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) OR
  • Physical Therapist (PT)
  • Knowledge of healthcare and community resources.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and monitors the agencys financial performance, identifying variances and implementing cost-optimization and reimbursement strategies.
  • Oversees contract service management, including payer credentialing updates.
  • Ensures daily operations run efficiently, maintaining continuity of office activities and adherence to standards of care.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
  • Directs and supports staff according to department policy and scope of practice.
  • Ensures adequate clinical supervision coverage during all operating hours and 24/7 RN availability for patient concerns.
  • Performs duties of the clinical supervisor, intake, scheduling, quality review, utilization management, and medical records functions as needed.
  • Works collaboratively with Talent Acquisition and HR on recruitment, hiring, compliance, and employee relations.
  • Ensures all personnel meet state and federal qualification requirements.
  • Provides leadership for clinical coordination to ensure quality, safety, and cost-effective care.
  • Achieves and exceeds national benchmarks for key performance indicators that impact patient outcomes and organizational financial health.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory and accrediting bodies including CMS, state agencies, and CLIA.
  • Leads the Quality Improvement (QI) program, including infection prevention, patient safety initiatives, risk management, performance improvement projects, and trend review.
  • Ensures QI committee meets at least quarterly and follows through on improvement plans.
  • Serves as a key liaison with hospital leaders, care management teams, and community partners to support smooth care transitions and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Represents the agency to the governing body through annual reports and regular communication.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
