About The Position

You will be responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of the HESS programs and policies for HAP. You are directly involved in developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance with HESS and security standards. You will work closely with executive leadership, operational management, and compliance teams to ensure the protection of guests, employees, assets, and the environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety Management, Security, or a related field
  • Recognized certification in safety, environmental, or security management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of international and regional HESS and security regulations.
  • Extensive experience in HESS and security management within a large, complex organization
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing compliance programs, risk management strategies, and incident investigations
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale projects in a hospitality environment.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to clearly communicate, verbally and in writing, with all levels of employees and management.
  • Ability to support and comply with all company policies, procedures, guidelines and safety standards.
  • Responsible for HESS and security oversight across all HAP operations, with global impact extending to both shore and fleet activities.
  • Ability to directly influence the safety, health, and security culture of the organization, ensuring legal compliance and protecting the reputation and operational integrity of HAP.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee compliance with HESS and sustainability-related policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Lead the development and implementation of risk management strategies for health, safety, environmental, and security operations.
  • Provides strategic direction to HESS and security teams, manages resources and budgets, and leads cross-functional initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and enforce regulatory requirements, including international and regional safety and security standards.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to assess, report, and mitigate HESS and security risks, including incident analysis and corrective actions.
  • Direct HESS audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance organizational performance.
  • Provide HESS and security training, support, and information to employees and stakeholders.
  • Lead by example by ‘respecting and protecting’ the health and safety of yourself and others.
  • Ensure your team and colleagues speak up, report all accidents, ‘near miss’ incidents, and work-related ill health conditions.
  • Help your team follow HESS rules and procedures by promoting the HESS Golden Rules.
  • Attend HESS training & conduct risk assessments where required.
