About The Position

The Director, Health Facility manages the day-to-day activities involving the maintenance of the building/facility, equipment, and machinery, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical and utility systems and grounds. The position supervises and coordinates the work of employees who repair and maintain building/facility equipment and machinery. The Director, Health Facility plans, budgets, and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials, and other related costs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university in Engineering, Facilities Maintenance, or a related field; or a Vo-Tech Associate's degree in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building automation, or a related field and three (3) years' relative experience; or six (6) years' experience in the building construction trades, facilities maintenance, or a related field; or a combination of education and experience.
  • An additional four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in facilities or construction is required.
  • An individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; Payroll systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of computers and office equipment.
  • Will be subject to call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergencies that relate to normal department functions.
  • Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
