About The Position

Supporting our Global Snacking division, the Marketing Operations Director is at the forefront of optimizing the efficiency, effectiveness and performance of the marketing team and product portfolio by driving executional excellence on a full spectrum of initiatives, all of which are critical to driving business growth. Acting as the key leader and owner of initiatives spanning AOC planning, Long Range Planning input, sustainable cost advantage, portfolio simplification, network & supply chain optimization, product & packaging modifications this role works closely with the Marketing, Sales, Go to Market Channel Leads, Finance, Operations and Supply Chain teams and represents all channels within the category. Responsible for maintaining brand integrity while driving operational efficiency, this person will play a key role in balancing the fast-paced requirements of responding to day-to-day business needs with the longer-term lens of strategic big bets. The position provides cross-functional guidance, build best practices to drive consistency across brands/categories, and use judgement to customize solutions needed to support brand strategy and deployment needs. The Director will have natural curiosity blended with strong commercial skills with particular business strengths in analysis, understanding the end to end supply chain, driving process improvement and effective communications. Requirements

  • A bachelor’s or advanced degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field (MBA strongly preferred)
  • Minimum 10+ years of Marketing, Brand and/or Commercial Planning experience, preferably either with a leading Consumer Packaged Food company or in a B2B industry; Food or Foodservice Marketing experience a plus
  • Skilled in building annual plans, with a proven track record of successfully delivering large, complex projects
  • Strong financial and strategic commercial acumen, with the analytical ability to interpret information from multiple data sources to gain clear understanding, provide holistic conclusions and support taking appropriate action
  • Proficient in leading, prioritizing and multitasking against several complex projects at a time leveraging strong project management skills to guarantee on time within scope delivery of projects
  • Ability to collaborate to influence at the Leadership team level and to clearly communicate complex issues and solutions; able to easily navigate understanding the details to topline storytelling as needed based on the audience
  • Performance driven and resilient, with a high sense of urgency to execute with excellence and ‘get things done’
  • Adept at informed decision making and able to adapt in a changing environment
  • Previous experience managing people and a team is required
  • Collaborative and influential, with the ability to clearly communicate complex issues and solutions; can easily navigate from knowing the details to topline storytelling as needed based on the audience

Responsibilities

  • Snacking Business Unit Operational Management Leads the AOC (Annual Operating Commitment – i.e., Commercial Plan) process for NA Marketing, aligning the process (where necessary) across Potato + Apps + CDN Retail and respective cross-functional team input.
  • Partner across various functions including finance to ensure Business Unit marketing AOC is integrated across the end-to-end planning process up through to SLT (Senior Leadership team).
  • Lead and drive key cross-functional strategic initiatives and task force teams i.e., Sustainable Cost Advantage, capacity and network expansion, crop management, RFP execution, pack changes, providing Business Unit and brand strategic guidance.
  • Represent marketing on specific cost savings and capacity-based initiatives across the business.
  • Supports P&L / Business Unit financial performance management as a critical stakeholder in the remaining S&OP steps, providing input and guidance on forecast assumptions, identifying risks, & generating opportunities
  • Supports execution of the bi-annual portfolio health review to address volume and margin outliers.
  • Manages the discontinuation process.
  • Advises on internal and external communications to customers and stakeholders in partnership with Marketing and Go to Market teams.
  • Champions change through process improvements and best practices to drive consistency, encourage engagement & enhance our CWOW cross functionally
  • Liaises with Marketing and FP&A to set volume and margin targets/floors aligned to support business objectives and portfolio strategy execution
  • Provides commercial and category support where required on crop related planning and management
  • Represents the Business Unit throughout R&O and DGR process providing the category POV on demand
  • Manages master data input and support across related processes (packaging, listings, SCA) and provides budget process guidance to the broader marketing team
  • Point person for marketing on data governance processes in line with NA data and technology/governance approach
