About The Position

We are seeking a results-focused Director, Global Partnerships to own and grow sponsorship revenue across one of North America's most diverse live event portfolios This is a senior commercial role at the heart of MARI's growth in North America. As the lead sponsorship sales driver for MARI's North American portfolio — spanning action sports, collector and memorabilia, art, and tennis — you'll be responsible for identifying, pitching, and closing partnership deals with global brands. You'll sit within MARI's Global Partnerships team, working closely with the SVP of Global Partnerships and the commercial leads across each business unit. This is a high-impact, high-visibility position for someone who thrives on building relationships, opening doors, and converting opportunity into revenue. Please note: this is a full-time role and qualified candidates must be based in the greater NYC area. You'll be part of a hybrid team that values both connection and flexibility. We'll cover the details of our hybrid schedule during the interview process. The base salary range for this role is $135,000 - $145,000.This role is bonus eligible; the on target earning range is $168,000 - $185,000. Salary is determined by market data, experience, location, and internal banding. Ranges will be discussed transparently during the interview process.

Requirements

  • Significant sponsorship sales experience with a clear and demonstrable track record of sourcing and closing new business — not just managing existing accounts
  • Deep experience in sports, culture, or entertainment, working with rights holders and/or agencies to deliver against revenue targets
  • A strong existing network of brand-side and agency contacts you can activate from the start
  • Proven ability to negotiate complex, high-value commercial agreements across multiple platforms and markets
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle — from lead generation and outreach through to contract execution alongside legal teams
  • Skilled at developing tailored proposals that speak to a brand's business objectives and emotional connection to audiences
  • Confident presenting to and engaging with senior and C-suite decision-makers
  • Commercially literate with experience building forecasts, managing pipelines, and reporting to senior leadership
  • A solid understanding of the digital and sponsorship activation landscape, and the ability to spot emerging opportunities in consumer behavior and platform trends
  • Self-directed and comfortable driving results with autonomy — you don't wait to be told where to look

Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end sponsorship sales across MARI's North American portfolio, with direct accountability for revenue targets on Collect-a-con and other assigned assets
  • Source and close new business with global brands and agencies, leveraging your existing network from day one
  • Cross-sell sponsorship opportunities across MARI's broader North American event calendar
  • Own client relationships from first conversation through activation, partnering with the Sponsorship Activation Team to deliver against contracted commitments
  • Collaborate with SVP Global Partnerships and Business Unit commercial leaders to align on strategy, prioritize opportunities, and maximize revenue across the portfolio
  • Represent MARI at key industry events, building and maintaining a strong profile across sports, entertainment, and culture
  • Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and deliver regular updates to Sales, Sales Operations, and Finance leadership
  • Contribute to MARI Group-wide commercial collaboration through active participation in sales meetings and cross-team initiatives
  • Identify and develop bespoke partnership propositions tailored to individual brand needs and objectives
