Job Description: Job Summary We are seeking a Director, GaN Products to lead advanced gallium nitride (GaN) device technology development and enablement across next-generation power and RF applications. This role will serve as a technical authority in GaN device physics, structures, reliability, and manufacturing integration, working closely with R D, product, reliability, process, and external partners to accelerate technology adoption and commercialization. The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on device expertise with the ability to translate fundamental technology into manufacturable, high-performance products.

Requirements

Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field, with a strong focus on compound semiconductors or power management.
15+ years of experience in GaN device research, development, and/or production environments.
Deep expertise in GaN device physics, characterization, reliability, and failure mechanisms.
Proven experience bringing GaN technologies from concept through development to manufacturing or commercial adoption.
Strong understanding of semiconductor fabrication, integration, and foundry collaboration models.
Track record of technical publications, patents, or industry recognition in GaN or related technologies.
Excellent technical communication skills; ability to influence across engineering, product, and leadership teams.

Nice To Haves

Experience with GaN-on-Si and/or RF GaN technologies.
Prior involvement in startup or entrepreneurial environments, joint development programs, or technology commercialization.
Experience working with 8-inch silicon fabs or advanced manufacturing nodes.
Background spanning both power and RF GaN applications.

Responsibilities

Serve as a technical expert and thought leader in GaN device physics, structures, and reliability mechanisms.
Lead evaluation, development, and optimization of advanced GaN device architectures (e.g., MISHEMT, FinFET, vertical or novel GaN structures).
Drive technology roadmaps aligned with company product and platform strategies.
Work closely with process, integration, and reliability teams to transition GaN technologies from R D into high-volume manufacturing.
Collaborate with internal teams and external fabs/partners to define process requirements, device specifications, and qualification strategies.
Support root-cause analysis of device performance and reliability issues across development and production.
Partner with system, product, and application teams to ensure device technology aligns with end-application requirements.
Engage with customers, partners, and ecosystem collaborators to support technology evaluation and adoption.
Contribute to IP strategy through invention disclosures, patents, and technical reviews.
Author and review technical papers, internal whitepapers, and conference publications.
Represent the company in technical forums, conferences, and industry collaborations as a recognized GaN technology expert.
Mentor engineers and contribute to the development of internal GaN technical capabilities.
