About The Position

The Role As Director, you will provide strategic leadership across assigned accounting teams, overseeing all aspects of daily operations and key initiatives. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across Accounting, Pricing, and broader business units, operating with a high degree of autonomy and engaging regularly with senior leaders across Fidelity Funds and Investment Operations (FFIO). Our role demands deep expertise in financial operations including: oversight of daily deliverables execution of critical initiatives performance evaluation executive-level end to end problem solving capabilities from defining complex problems to synthesizing key points and drawing out connections to broader trends and business priorities. The Director will drive support of our critical deliverables through evaluating business and product performance, providing insight into value delivered, cost, and improvement opportunities. The Director will also oversee the Derivative Accounting team, which is responsible for the centralized processing of all derivative-related activities, including: Reconciliations Resets Life cycle event management Support for onboarding new instruments The Team The Alternative Accounting Team is part of the Fund Operations division within Fidelity's Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) business unit. The Fund Operations division provides back office operational support to Fidelity Retail and Institutional products, including books and records maintenance, securities' pricing, fund and security level performance analysis, financial reporting and tax work. The Alternative Accounting Team provides operational support for as well as performs the daily, monthly and quarterly pricing and bookkeeping for Fidelity’s alternative and digital products as well as the ETF funds within FFIO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of financial and accounting principles and their application in operational settings.
  • Ability to synthesize data, analyses, and conclusions into presentation form to deliver strategic recommendations to Senior Leadership and key business partners.
  • Ability to learn quickly and under pressure in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to handle ambiguity, and to manage several priorities.
  • Ability to foster effective relationships, and to develop the credibility and standing to inform and challenge senior business partners.
  • Actively partner with associates to ensure relevant on-the-job development and career growth.

  • Familiarity with Fidelity Fund Operations Accounting and Pricing Operations is strongly preferred.
