About The Position

Allium is building the System of Record for Onchain Finance Allium ingests, verifies, and standardizes data across 140+ blockchains and 30+ petabytes of history. We close four structural gaps that prevent blockchains from becoming systems of record: Semantic Gap: Translating raw events into financial concepts like payments, trades, deposits, and staking income Standardization Gap: Mapping thousands of protocols into a single canonical cross chain schema Infrastructure Gap: Read optimized, globally distributed data at web scale Accountability Gap: Auditable methodology, SLAs, and SOC 1 and 2 compliance The result is a neutral, canonical data layer institutions can build on with confidence. Finance is moving onchain Stablecoins, tokenized assets, trading, staking, and lending are growing rapidly. Institutions need a trusted source of truth for onchain financial activity, just as they rely on Bloomberg or DTCC in traditional markets. Raw blockchains cannot serve that role. As AI agents begin transacting autonomously, the requirement becomes even stricter. Agents cannot reason over raw event logs. They need structured data, attribution, condition checks, and auditability. Allium is the read layer that makes onchain finance usable for humans and machines. Who We Serve Allium powers three core personas with the same canonical data foundation: 1. Finance, Accounting, and Risk TeamsThey need reliable, audit grade answers. They rely on Allium for financial reporting, reconciliation, compliance, risk monitoring, and defensible metrics that can stand up to auditors and regulators. 2. Engineers and Product Teams They need low latency, production ready infrastructure. They use Allium to power wallets, trading systems, payment rails, staking infrastructure, and real time applications that cannot break. 3. Strategy, Research, and Executive Teams They need clarity and insight. They use Allium to understand ecosystem economics, market structure, user behavior, competitive dynamics, and where capital is flowing onchain. and of course.. agents 🦞. Our customers and users include Visa, Stripe, G-SIB Banks, Big 4 Accounting firms, BCG, Coinbase, Phantom, Uniswap and cited by the Federal Reserve. The Role We are hiring our first Director of FP&A to help Allium scale through our next phase of growth. You'll own the operating model, annual plan, forecasts, and the metrics frameworks that shape how leadership allocates capital, evaluates performance, and tells our story to the board and investors. You'll partner directly with the leadership team to bring analytical rigor and financial clarity to a fast growing business. You should be energized by building from scratch, comfortable navigating usage-based and enterprise SaaS economics, and have the judgment to operate with near-zero direction.

Requirements

  • 8-12+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or a blend of banking and operating roles, with at least 3-4 years at a high-growth B2B SaaS or usage-based company
  • You've built or significantly scaled an FP&A function before - you know what good looks like because you've built it
  • You've already been using and experimenting with Claude Code, MCP, or similar tools. We're building a finance function where AI isn't a nice-to-have, it's infrastructure
  • Excellent communicator who distills complex financial information into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Embodies Allium’s values - Extreme Ownership, High Agency, and Strong Opinions (Loosely Held)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience at a data platform, infrastructure, or analytics company is a strong plus
  • Comfortable working in ambiguity and iterating quickly - you bias for progress over perfection

Responsibilities

  • Own the operating model, annual plan, quarterly forecasts, and long-range financial outlook - these are living tools that surface tradeoffs, not static documents
  • Lead the monthly and quarterly FP&A close rhythm: variance analysis, rolling reforecasts, and close coordination with Accounting
  • Build and maintain the headcount plan with functional leaders, tying hiring decisions to business outcomes and ROI - not just forecasting expense, but connecting resourcing to results
  • Own the SaaS metrics stack - ARR, net dollar retention, CAC, sales productivity, pipeline velocity, gross margin by product line, burn multiple - and make them legible and actionable for the whole company
  • Provide the analytical backbone for pricing decisions, contract structures, and GTM strategy - Allium has a complex price book spanning 150+ blockchain datasets across multiple delivery methods (Snowflake, Databricks, etc). You will need to understand the unit economics beneath it.
  • Build best-in-class KPI reporting and dashboards that keep a pulse on the business and drive decision-making across the company
  • Own the forecasting and analysis of infrastructure spend - cloud compute, Snowflake, data delivery costs - and partner with Engineering to manage margins as the platform scales
  • Partner with RevOps on sales compensation planning - comp plan design, SPIFFs, quota structures - and own commissions processing, administration, and analytics
  • Work closely with Accounting to keep the financials tight and ensure a clean handoff between close and forward-looking analysis
  • Prepare financial materials for board meetings, investor updates, and fundraising processes - this includes the narrative, not just the numbers. Help frame Allium's financial story with brevity and confidence
  • Own the data room and financial due diligence workflows for future rounds
  • Automate and systematize FP&A workflows - eliminate reconciliation friction and build infrastructure that compounds as the company grows
