About The Position

The Director of Ancillary & Safety Services Services is responsible for the acute care hospitals, off-site licensed facilities, Behavioral Health and Physician Network coordination of all duties regarding patient, visitor, and staff safety, which include, but may not be limited to, assessing risk, incident reporting and investigation, performance monitoring and improvement, and oversight of regulatory environmental compliance. This position is appointed as the Safety Officer for the health system. This position is also directly responsible for the effective, efficient, and safe operation of all aspects of food service for the Health System; including the patient, cafeteria, and catering services. This position reviews, formulates, and implements policy and organizational changes, working within established guidelines and the mission of the John Muir Health System. This position is responsible for the following programs/teams: Food and Nutrition Services including dietary and retail services, Safety, Hazardous Materials/Waste, Workplace Violence Prevention, Emergency Management, Security, Guest Services, and Valet.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree - Science or Food related field - Required
  • Master's Degree - Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Emergency Management, Health and Safety, or Related Field - Required
  • Certification Dietary Manager - Required
  • 5 - 7 years Management - Director Position - Required
  • 5 - 7 years Food Services - Healthcare Management - Required
  • Serv Safe Certification - ServSafe - Required
  • ANFP-CDM - Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (Certified Dietary Manager) - Required
  • HEM - Healthcare Environmental Manager Training and Certification or degree emphasis equivalent - Required within 1 year of hire
