About The Position

Position Summary... The Director, Finance - Energy leads long-term financial planning by collaborating with the Energy and cross functional teams to align corporate goals with financial strategies. This role involves analyzing business performance, managing risk controls, and delivering actionable insights to support decision-making. The Director oversees financial reporting accuracy, develops complex financial models, and communicates key findings to senior leadership. By driving strategic initiatives and fostering operational excellence, this position ensures effective resource allocation and continuous improvement, contributing to the company’s financial integrity and sustainable growth. About the team: The team manages the financial performance of Walmart’s U.S. real estate and energy portfolio, including new store development, remodels, acquisitions, and dispositions. It oversees financial aspects of energy initiatives such as EV charging and energy solutions. Focused on sustaining and expanding physical assets while supporting energy stakeholders, the team collaborates across departments to drive long-term financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. By aligning with corporate goals, the team delivers actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and ensure effective financial management of Walmart’s real estate and energy investments. What you'll do... Lead long-term financial planning by collaborating with departments to align financial targets with corporate goals and assess risk levels. Partner with senior management to analyze business performance, identify gaps, and provide insights on budget processes and retail trends. Manage control structures to mitigate financial misstatement risks and enhance reporting transparency across financial systems. Develop complex financial models and prepare presentations to support strategic business decisions and communicate forecasts to leadership. Drive business strategy by analyzing costs, forecasts, and operational processes to identify improvement opportunities. What you'll bring: Extensive experience in financial planning, analysis, and forecasting to support strategic decision-making and business performance evaluation. Proven ability to develop and manage complex financial models incorporating risks, assumptions, and business trends. Strong expertise in financial management, including budgeting, variance analysis, and financial statement consolidation. Demonstrated skill in collaborating cross-functionally to align financial targets with corporate goals and mitigate financial risks. Ability to influence stakeholder strategy and communicate financial insights clearly to senior leadership. Experience in enhancing financial controls and reporting transparency within large organizations.
