About The Position

The Director of Finance is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization. This role ensures sound financial planning, accurate reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Director of Finance works closely with executive leadership to support decision-making, budgeting, and long-term financial goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (required)
  • CPA, CFA, or MBA (strongly preferred)
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience
  • At least 3–5 years in a leadership or senior management role
  • Experience in [industry-specific context, e.g., nonprofit, healthcare, SaaS] preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, ERP software
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
  • A valid Nevada Gaming License is required and must be obtained before entering this position.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary for the success of the hotel.
  • Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Conduct financial forecasting, modeling, and scenario planning.
  • Advise executive leadership on financial planning, budgeting, and investments.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process across departments.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor performance against budgets and provide variance analysis.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
  • Supervise accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
  • Oversee internal controls and audit processes.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks.
  • Manage and mentor finance and accounting staff.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional development.
  • Serve as a key liaison for auditors, regulators, and external partners.
  • Present financial reports and insights to the board of directors and leadership team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
