Director, Finance: Risk Management

About The Position

The Risk Director is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks that could impact the organization’s financial performance, operations, reputation, or regulatory compliance. This role develops and implements risk management policies, conducts risk assessments, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to strengthen internal controls and business operations. This role is also responsible for the organization’s annual insurance program renewals; managing the relationship with our brokers and managing claims.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
5+ years of experience in risk management
Experience developing ERM frameworks
Strong knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Excellent problem-solving ability
Knowledge of risk assessment tools
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to influence senior leadership
Proficiency in risk management software and Microsoft Excel
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Nice To Haves

MBA or Master’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework
Identify, assess, and prioritize financial, operational, strategic, and compliance risks
Conduct risk assessments and scenario analyses
Monitor risk exposure and report findings to senior leadership
Design and implement risk mitigation strategies and internal controls
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Oversee insurance programs and claims management
Lead business continuity and crisis management planning
Collaborate across the organization
Prepare risk reports, dashboards, and key risk indicators (KRIs)
