About The Position

The Director, Finance North America is a strategic financial leadership role for New Era’s largest region responsible for providing financial support and strategic guidance in a effort to drive revenue and profitability growth. This role leads a team of financial professionals supporting Sales Channel Revenue and Gross Margin optimization, Marketing efficiency and tracking, Royalty compliance and achievement vs license expectations, and Organizational expenses (headcount and non-headcount related). This person will serve as a key member of the North American leadership team, providing comprehensive support to the General Management North America and the North American commercial sales team.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience supporting a divisional/business unit General Manager or Finance Executive.
  • “Business partnering” experience with a reporting relationship (direct or matrix) to operating management. Experience with supporting commercial sales leaders, particularly in the Ecommerce space, a plus.
  • Budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, projections, accounting, and finance preferably in an apparel or consumer goods environment
  • Understanding of GAAP
  • Deep financial modeling and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to extract, analyze, and summarize complex data; excellent Excel skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of an ERP system, preferably SAP and BPC.
  • Resourcefulness, innovative and creative thinking

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA in Finance/Financial Analysis is preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Power BI and Tableau a plus.
  • Treasury and/or Public Accounting experience would be an added asset.
  • International experience or working in a multi-national setting would also be an added asset
  • An accounting qualification (e.g., CPA) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive financial and business analysis, support and advice to the GM North America and his/her leadership team
  • Partner with senior leaders to shape planning models that drive growth and profitability for the Region
  • Lead financial planning, forecasting and budgeting process for the North American region
  • With VP, Finance Americas guidance, support the development of long-term financial strategy aligned with Corporate financial targets
  • Drive profitable growth and efficiencies for the New Era North America Region
  • Establish and implement annual targets for Sales Channels, pricing and gross margins, marketing budgets, royalty metrics, and organizational expenses (people and administrative)
  • Develop Sales Channel quarterly Revenue targets and detailed seasonal program targets and track performance vs Plan quarterly for sales incentive purposes and strategic direction
  • Provide support for Board presentations with a focus on key variances and risks/opportunities vs Plan/Forecast and Prior Year
  • Lead reviews of Customer and product profitability with a focus on improving gross margins on headwear and apparel
  • Review Customer trade terms and Go-to-Market strategies on an ongoing basis providing recommendations to the commercial sales teams as to how optimize market share and preserve profitability targets
  • Help drive strategy to assess inventory levels and optimizing DSI
  • Analyze licensing contracts and royalties and provide financial recommendations and support for new licenses, and the renewal of existing licenses
  • Lead and mentor a high performing finance team that delivers targeted business objectives
  • Continue to review staffing levels to make sure that the commercial team has proper and optimal financial support
  • Partner with ’47 Finance Director to drive synergies as it relates to our Go-to-Market approach with key strategic retail partners
