About The Position

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead finance, operations, and human resources functions for a multi-entity organization, including nonprofit and advocacy arms. You will serve as a strategic partner to the executive team, providing actionable financial insights, managing budgets, and ensuring operational excellence. Your work will span accounting, cash flow, auditing, compliance, IT, and HR, supporting organizational growth and mission delivery. You will oversee staff and consultants while fostering cross-functional collaboration, strengthening internal controls, and driving process improvements. This position combines high-level strategy with hands-on leadership in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with meaningful impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification is desirable.
  • 7+ years of progressive finance and operations leadership, with at least 3–5 years managing multi-entity nonprofit organizations and budgets exceeding $10M.
  • Hands-on experience managing HR functions, IT/operations, and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven experience leading annual audits and managing regulatory filings.
  • Proficiency with NetSuite accounting software and Paylocity HCM systems.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex financial information for diverse audiences.
  • Experienced people manager with exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to equity and advancing organizational mission in education or social impact.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic partner by providing forward-thinking financial reporting, dashboards, and actionable insights to executive leadership and program teams.
  • Manage multi-entity finances, including accounting, intercompany transactions, cost allocations, and consolidated reporting.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes across all entities, monitoring performance against objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax laws, and regulatory reporting, and partner with external auditors on annual audits and filings.
  • Oversee organizational operations, including IT infrastructure, vendor management, contracts, and insurance.
  • Lead all HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, benefits administration, policy implementation, and employee relations.
  • Provide guidance on strategic financial decisions, cash flow management, and risk mitigation.
  • Implement and maintain financial systems and tools to enhance operational efficiency.
