About The Position

The University of Miami/UHealth department of Facilities has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Director, Facilities & Operations to work at the UHealth Medical Campus. The Director, Facilities & Operations oversees the maintenance, energy operations, and environmental services operations of assigned facilities. Further, the Director, Facilities & Operations provides leadership to management staff and oversees all maintenance program initiatives. Identifies, analyzes, and implements energy projects for assigned facilities. Prepares department budget for funding requirements, and monitors expenditures. Makes routine inspections of facilities to uphold maintenance standards. Works as liaison between staff and departments to continuously assess facility conditions and keep facility assessment database accurate and up-to-date. Prepares reports for leadership team regarding facility conditions and needs. Collaborates in the planning of new construction and renovation projects. Ensures facilities maintain a high level of emergency preparedness at all times. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures. Department Specific Functions Maintain HVAC equipment in accordance with OEM/ASHRAE standards. Monitor and maintain record keeping for critical care spaces per Joint Commission, AHCA, NFPA, and AHJ standards. Works closely with the Executive Director, Facilities Management on customer service, timely notification of utility outages or interruptions, and day-to-day operations and maintenance. Responsible for supplying an uninterrupted supply of utilities services to all Medical Campus Facilities on the loop and emergency power provided from the plant. Manage a direct report staffing, which includes licensed and un-licensed professionals in the HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trades. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field( Facilities Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or Technical Management )
  • Minimum 8 years of experience
  • Knowledge of business and management principles.
  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
  • Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
