About The Position

The Director, Events, Sponsorships & Production is responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive strategy for all company internal and external events, high-profile meetings, visual media, and community, sports, partner, and industry sponsorships. This individual serves as a subject matter expert for the organization and its stakeholders, seeking innovative ways to expand the organization's impact through events and sponsorships. This role requires close collaboration with Executive Leadership and senior leaders throughout the business to support the organization's goals. This individual offers visionary leadership for the team responsible for delivering both in-person and virtual events, from concept through completion featuring the CEO & Executive Leadership, Board Members, partners and associates. Possessing a strategic mindset, exceptional leadership skills, and superior organizational abilities are vital for this position's effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Event Management, Marketing or related field of study or equivalent, relevant work experience
  • 10+ years experience in business, strategic event planning and management with proven track record of successful strategic planning, budget management, event execution, and ROI.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop world-class events strategy aligned with organizational goals securing buy-in from stakeholders for all company events and sponsorships. The strategy development will require alignment across the business to support both the company's overarching strategic plan as well as department objectives, always aiming to boost participation and engagement with positive ROI and ROO.
  • Leverage in-depth knowledge in event management to design a range of events, encompassing both in-person and virtual formats. Develop thorough event plans detailing all logistics, timelines, and resource distribution. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and address the technical requirements for each project, ensuring smooth execution and delivery.
  • Oversee the internal production studio and team producing visual media for the organization. Maintain content library for internal stakeholders to utilize in internal and external communications. Ensure content aligns with organizational goals, messaging, and branding. Find efficiencies and cost savings through development and completion.
  • Lead a team ranging from Specialists to Senior Managers, overseeing up to five direct reports. Exhibit outstanding leadership by mentoring and supporting their professional growth, achieving a strong executive presence. Provide guidance and performance feedback. Responsible for ensuring the team meets expectations by delivering projects on time, within budget, and without errors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, sponsors, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Negotiate partnerships to enhance event experiences and maximize ROI for the business. Analyze business issues, collaborate with stakeholders to find strategic solutions, and secure agreement on the optimal resolution.
  • Responsible for developing the annual department forecast and overseeing it year-round through monthly forecasts. Manage and lead contract negotiations to optimize investments, maximize corporate value, and savings for each project to ensure events have engaging experiences with a strong ROI for the organization.
  • Use intake and data analysis to evaluate project effectiveness and relevancy, ensuring benchmarks and goals are met and results are measured/reported.

  • Illinois associates receive 40 hours of Illinois PSST upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year and 40 hours of Illinois Paid Leave upon hire and at the beginning of each subsequent calendar year.
  • Illinois Paid Leave must be used before associates in Illinois will be approved to take FTO.
  • Hired associates will be able to elect the purchase company stock during offering periods in June and December.
  • You will be eligible for an annual incentive bonus based on individual and company performance.
