At Continental Electronics, Director of Estimating and Pricing is a fundamental leadership role responsible for establishing and leading the Estimating and Pricing function within the Continental Electronics Corporation. This role requires strong leadership, industry expertise, and the ability to collaborate across departments to achieve business objectives within the organization. You'll be responsible for the development of company policies, tools, training materials, leading cost estimating and pricing activities, proposal requirements analysis, pricing strategies, proposal development, and negotiation support, including interfacing with DCAA, DCMA, and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (MBA preferred)
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in government contracting estimating and pricing, including leadership of complex proposals
  • Proficient in creation and interpretation of complex cost and pricing models and/or pricing software, such as ProPricer
  • Expert knowledge of Federal proposal regulations including but not limited to: FAR, DFARS, and CAS
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to business audiences in both spoken and written formats
  • Ability to interpret complex proposal documents and create compliant proposal deliverables
  • Proven leadership abilities inclusive of successful change management, training, and accountability
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong critical thinking with an ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Proven track record of identifying issues, analyzing large amounts of data, and implementing effective solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to effectively communicate with team members, management, and other departments

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain company policies and procedures related to the cost estimating system, proposal creation, reviews, and audits
  • Focus on driving development and implementation of process improvements with any given opportunity
  • Engage with operating/business unit leadership to develop acquisition and estimating strategies needed to successfully negotiate follow-on business and capture new efforts
  • Design and maintain cost estimating and pricing models and tools, including software applications
  • Develop and conduct training on cost estimating and pricing tools, processes, methodologies, and Government compliance
  • Review and interpret Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and establish pricing strategies aligned with capture plans and customer requirements
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop accurate basis of estimates, work breakdown structures (WBS) that support program execution and customer requirements, should-cost and price-to-win analysis, and strategy to support company financial goals
  • Utilize cost estimating and pricing models and tools to generate cost estimates, pricing data, and applicable reports
  • Prepare financial data and presentations to support leadership review and approval of proposed cost and pricing proposals
  • Create required proposal documents that are compliant with both customer requirements and Government regulations, laws and company policies
  • Actively participate in proposal audits and negotiations with DCAA, DCMA, and customers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist with transition from bid phase to execution phase of the program
