About The Position

Tucson Unified School District is looking for an experienced and strategic Director of Employee Relations to champion a positive, equitable, and compliant workplace. The successful candidate will be responsible for: Leading negotiations and managing the comprehensive grievance process. Developing, implementing, and overseeing all Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Title IX compliance programs. Directing and resolving complex investigations into complaints involving discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct. SUMMARY Coordinates the employee relations functions of the district, including negotiations and the grievance process. Develops and oversees the District's Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Title IX compliance programs, including the investigation and resolution of complaints related to discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Social Justice, Political Science, Economics, or a closely related field
  • Five years experience in the following areas: grievances, arbitration, contract administration and contract negotiation and/or conducting or overseeing complex workplace or civil rights investigations (EEO/Title IX).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state EEO and Title IX regulations and investigative best practices.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, training, or education.
  • Must be available evenings and weekends.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions
  • Experience in working with diverse constituencies/populations.
  • FBI fingerprint background check.
  • Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
