About The Position

Under the direction of the Chief People Officer for Northern Arizona Healthcare, the Director Employee Relations, Recruiting and Experience is responsible for leading, planning and executing initiatives within the full scope of talent acquisition, including physician and provider recruitment, employee relations, leave administration & ADA, performance management, and NAH-system wide programs that ensure the development and advancement of an empowered, inclusive, values-driven workplace culture. This role actively plans for, addresses, and forecasts future talent and culture needs and aligns those with NAH’s people and leadership strategies. This role also oversees initiatives such as our Leadership Development series, diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility programs, employee recognition and employee engagement. This role supervises the Human Resources Business Partners, Recruiters, Leave Administrator, the HR Manager Onboarding & Employee Relations and the HR Program Manger People Experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree- Required
  • 5 years in Human Resources- Required
  • 2 years People Management experience- Required
  • Colleagues must have an understanding of computers, and competence in using computers and basic software programs.

  • MS/MBA in Human Resources or related field- Preferred
  • PHR/SPHR Certification- Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Talent Acquisition Leads NAH’s full cycle recruitment function as an inclusive, free of bias and results oriented one and delivers proactive strategies, to source, attract, and recruit top tier healthcare talent to include providers, clinical and non-clinical roles
  • Responsible for supporting clinical leaders in posting, sourcing, and filling job requisitions; screens applicants, moves candidates through the steps of the hiring process, facilitates background check and references.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains community outreach recruitment program.
  • Manage all aspects of physician recruitment at NAH including the implementation of standardized recruitment protocols and procedures throughout the individual departments.
  • In partnership with the Compensation Team, ensures the integrity of the wage and salary program in the recruitment and hiring process.
  • Optimizes utilization and oversees Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Develops reports to monitor staffing metrics.
  • Responsible for the oversight and management of the traveler and locum tenens program, including but not limited to vendor management, contract negotiation, providing counsel to leaders on workforce plans regarding the use of travelers/locums, etc.
  • Works to develop and maintain productive business relationships with employment contacts including executive placement professionals, advertising representatives, workforce and career service counselors, etc.
  • Develops, directs and monitors strategies aimed at maintaining a healthy workplace culture including strategies, programs and initiatives related to talent acquisition and retention, employee communications, engagement and relations across and inclusive of all of the organization’s programs and departments.
  • Proactively drives effective employee communications in partnership with the Communications and NAH leadership team.
  • Oversees the design and execution of capability building programs in the area of Employee Relations/ People Experience. Programs include but are not limited to: Rewards & Recognition, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility, Leadership Development, New Colleague and New Supervisor Orientation.
  • Proactively and effectively addresses components of workplace culture that impede organizational and individual effectiveness in a manner consistent with the organization’s values.
  • Responsible for the oversight and management of our performance management and recognition programs and processes.
  • Develops and communicates with leaders the necessary direction to execute our annual performance management process, to include but not limited to annual performance reviews, goal setting, quarterly check-ins, etc.
  • Provides education as needed in support of performance management and recognition programs.
  • In partnership with CHRO leads the execution of our annual employee engagement survey process and action planning.
  • Researches and proposes employee programs that align with NAH's values and promote employee engagement.
  • Hires, provides performance assessments and feedback, and develops staff.
  • Conducts timely performance reviews and provides on-going feedback.
  • Establishes and monitors individual and team goals and objectives.
  • Consults with staff in assisting them in complex situations relevant to the subject matter expertise of each team member.
  • Ensures that established policies and procedures are followed by all team members
  • Drives ownership and operational excellence in everything we do from case and requisition management to delivering on priorities and projects.
  • Is an internal consultant who successfully mediates and/or resolves employee issues thereby avoiding the need for legal intervention.
  • Contributes to the creation of a highly engaged workforce by: Establishing goals and tactical plans that ensure people strategies align with organizational goals and strategies.
  • In partnership with the CHRO leads the development and delivery of educational offerings to improve the organization’s leadership competence.
  • Provides oversight of any legal action or pending claim with regard to EEOC, Dept of Labor, or any other gov't entity inquiry. In partnership with Legal counsel develops position letters and submits required responses.
  • Provides guidance, direction, and coaching on addressing employee conflicts, investigations, and maintaining a positive work environment; assess performance, provide feedback, and actively develop talent.
  • Leverages best practices in providing a consistent employee experience.
  • Oversees the Leave of Absence and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) program ensuring compliance with all state/federal regulations.
  • Works with Leave Administrator and Leave Support Specialist to ensure NAH is following FMLA guidelines and NAH policies in regard to our leave program.
  • Partners with Employee health to facilitate fitness for duty and ADA reasonable accommodation evaluations and solutions.
  • Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.
  • Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.
  • If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates.
  • Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame.
  • Responsible for all required government and accrediting body reporting, including but not limited to DNV visits, EEO-1 reporting, etc.
