About The Position

About Vantage Data Centers Vantage Data Centers powers, cools, protects and connects the technology of the world’s well-known hyperscalers, cloud providers and large enterprises. Developing and operating across North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific, Vantage has evolved data center design in innovative ways to deliver dramatic gains in reliability, efficiency and sustainability in flexible environments that can scale as quickly as the market demands. Position Overview Vantage Data Centers is looking for a Director, Environmental Health and Safety, Adoption & Enablement, Global. In this executive leadership role, you will be responsible for owning the last mile of safety strategy. This role ensures global EHS standards, tools, and programs are adopted, used correctly, and sustained across regions, projects, and sites. The job is not to create policy, it’s to make change stick. If Standards & Governance define what good looks like , Adoption & Enablement ensures it shows up in the field. You will champion a proactive safety culture, ensure enterprise-wide compliance, and drive continuous improvement across all EHS domains. This role requires close collaboration with senior leaders across construction, operations, compliance, legal, HR, and security to embed safety into every aspect of our business. You will lead a high-performing team of EHS professionals, providing mentorship and strategic oversight to ensure consistent execution of safety programs. As Vantage continues to scale globally, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing risk mitigation strategies that align with our growth and innovation goals. This role demands a visionary leader with a strong focus on strategic execution, data-driven decision-making, and global harmonization of EHS practices. The role requires autonomy and oversight of processes including, but not limited to: This role can be based in any of our US locations: Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Santa Clara, CA; San Antonio, TX; Columbus; Ohio, Atlanta; Georgia; or Ashburn, VA in alignment with our flexible work policy (3 days onsite required, 2 days flexible). Global Adoption Strategy Design and execute a global adoption framework for EHS programs, tools, and standards. Translate strategy into practical, site-level execution. Define what “adopted” means (clear success criteria, not vague intent). Change Management & Enablement Lead structured change management for major EHS initiatives (new standards, tools, systems). Identify adoption risks early and intervene decisively. Build simple enablement packages: playbooks, job aids, FAQs, leader talking points. Leadership & Field Engagement Equip leaders (VPs, Directors, Site Leaders) to visibly and consistently reinforce expectations. Drive leader-led safety behaviors, not EHS-owned activity. Partner closely with Regional EHS Directors to align on priorities and sequencing. Training & Capability Building Define the learning strategy for EHS (who needs what, when, and why). Ensure training is role-based, relevant, and performance-focused. Eliminate “check-the-box” training—focus on competence and behavior change. Feedback Loops & Continuous Improvement Establish feedback mechanisms from sites and regions. Use field feedback to refine tools, standards, and rollout approaches. Ensure lessons learned are rapidly captured and reused globally. Metrics & Effectiveness Define and track adoption metrics, not just activity metrics. Examples: usage rates, quality of execution, leadership participation, sustainability over time. Partner with Governance & Reporting to integrate adoption indicators into dashboards.
