The Impact You Will Make Leads all global Procurement efforts across the Corporation on Direct Materials principally focused on Medical Device Inhalers (MDI), Autoinjectors and Transdermal Patches. Manages a team of Procurement professionals across the globe to deliver impressive results. The primary responsibility of this role is driving category management to support production efficiency by minimizing risk and the total cost of ownership of direct materials, the culmination of which will give the Corporation a competitive advantage. This position may be required to cover the VP, Global Procurement when unavailable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (ideally in a technical subject).
  • Recognized Qualification in Procurement or equivalent.
  • ​A minimum of 10 years in Procurement Management ideally with a background in supply chain management or manufacturing.
  • ​5 Years experience of successfully managing an international team.
  • ​3 years Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences industry experience.
  • ​In depth knowledge of Category Management and Strategic Sourcing.
  • ​Solid working knowledge and practical experience of MRP. A Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), Oracle and/or SAP background.
  • ​Experienced in eSourcing (eRFI/P/Q/Auction).
  • ​Experience in a formalized Supplier Relationship Management program.
  • ​Strong verbal English and written English communication skills including the ability to make effective presentations.
  • ​Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to form close, amicable, trusting relationships across businesses, internal functions, and across all levels within an enterprise.
  • ​​Proven consistent success in complex negotiations and experience in leading in a negotiation team.
  • ​Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project and AO or Visio.
  • ​​Demonstrated change management experience and implementing processes through to completion.
  • ​Ability to make sound independent judgments regularly.
  • ​Demonstrated ability to consistently exceed goals.
  • ​​Sound financial skills including interpretation of company accounts.
  • ​Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in parallel to conclusion.
  • ​Process driven approach to problem solving.
  • ​Extensive knowledge of customs and practices across countries and “Culturally Aware.”

Responsibilities

  • Be an advocate for and drive the G.P.O. model in all aspects.
  • Develop strong and effective relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Provide leadership in the discipline of Category Management and the formulation of Category Strategies.
  • Drive and embed environmental and sustainability principles in all sourcing and procurement activities.
  • Maintain a complete risk analysis for the MDI and Actuator supply chain to tiern.
  • Ensure all key materials for the MDI, Actuator and Transdermal businesses are maintained under contract.
  • Drive a rapid response on behalf of the Corporation to secure materials in the event of a force majeure event.
  • Manage re-negotiation allocation of expiring contracts for indirect goods and services.
  • Prioritize contractual workload for Legal on indirect goods and services contracts.
  • Hold Category Managers to account for delivery against strategic sourcing project plan dates and delivery of Value.
  • Provide training and fully exercise the tools of Procurement in value creation.
  • Ensure the development of Category Strategies with business partners to provide the Corporation with optimized cost solutions.
  • Critique negotiation scripts for direct reports.
  • Ensure direct reports follow meeting discipline on agenda and minutes and saving to central repository.
  • Obtain tiered pricing wherever possible for unit volume ranges.
  • Identify and drive cost-savings programs and cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Effectively manage risk of non-supply of goods and services through sourcing strategy and contracting.
  • Minimize the working capital of the company without jeopardizing manufacturing.
  • Develop and maintain a rolling 3-year program of procurement projects.
  • Ensure KPI’s and KRI’s are utilized to measure the contribution of the department.
  • Ensure sourcing is conducted on a global scale to create value from suppliers and for customers.
  • Drive the evaluation of total costs for goods and services.
  • Ensure visibility of spend through the maintenance of the spend cube.
  • Drive and utilize eSourcing in the relevant circumstances to drive Value for the Corporation.
  • Ensure the structure of the department is aligned to support Business Units most effectively.
  • Establish short, mid, and long term goals for staff and drive these for execution.
  • Manage staff ensuring they have a growth plan, regular goals feedback, coaching and where appropriate, mentoring.
  • Develop procurement staff to ensure an effective succession plan within the function.
  • Participate in an established cadence of internal and external meetings in line with a Communication Plan.
