CardWorks Servicing, LLC provides end-to end operational servicing functions for credit cards, secured cards, and installment loans. We service consumer and small business loans across the credit spectrum and offers backup servicing and due diligence services to capital providers and trustees. Merrick Bank is an FDIC-insured Utah Industrial Loan Bank . Merrick operates three main business lines : credit cards, recreational lending, and merchant services. Carson Smithfield, LLC provides a variety of post-charge-off debt recovery services, including digital self-service, IVR, live agent, and external agency management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 7–10+ years in data governance, data management, or analytics leadership.
  • Proven experience writing governance policies and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Expertise in Collibra Archer, and MDM-RDM platforms.
  • Ability to write Data Governance Policies & Procedures and oversee approval of Policies
  • Ability to gather requirements, apply strong analysis and design skills to build system specifications
  • Strong consultative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Deep familiarity with data warehouse technology and implementations at scale
  • Ability to work with information technology teams and all levels of the organization, including senior management
  • Demonstrated ability to describe the policies & procedures to all levels of the organization
  • Strong communication skills: oral presentations, writing, negotiation, active listening, influence positive team dynamics
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Financial Services industry
  • Ability to work under pressure; flexibility and willingness to work at a rapid pace
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail is essential
  • Strong team player with a high level of interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Policy & Procedure Development Author and maintain data governance policies and procedures tailored to financial services regulations (e.g., GLBA, SOX, GDPR).
  • Ability to work alongside internal and external auditors Define SOPs for stewardship, quality management, metadata, and escalation protocols.
  • Align governance documentation with enterprise standards such as the Enterprise Data Governance Policy (EDGP), Enterprise Data Management Standard (EDMS), and Records Retention Management Policy.
  • Cross-Functional Engagement Interface with organizational area heads to define governance needs and priorities.
  • Facilitate Data Stewardship meetings to drive adoption of standards and resolve issues.
  • Build and sustain a community of practice across business domains Tool Enablement & Technical Oversight Collaborate with the Director of Architecture who is directly responsible for CardWorks Data Governance Toolkit including Business Glossary, Data Catalog, Data Lineage, Data Quality and Policy Management.
  • Collaborate with MDM Subject Matter Expert on CardWorks MDM-RDM platforms and other governance tools Mentor technical staff on Data Governance Policies & Procedures
