We are seeking an Associate Director of Data Governance who will lead the data governance strategy for Data Solutions, focusing on practical process definition and hands-on management of metadata and data stewardship initiatives. Your expertise will help advance FactSet’s data maturity and ensure our data assets are consistently well-managed, accessible, and reliable. What You'll Do Data Governance Leadership: Define, implement, and optimize data governance standards and processes, ensuring that high quality and discoverable data is consistently delivered to users. Alignment & Accountability: Drive accountability by establishing clear, shared goals for all roles involved in data governance, ensuring alignment, ownership, and measurable progress across the organization. Process Definition & Improvement: Establish and continuously improve repeatable workflows for data sourcing, transformation, delivery, and maintenance within data products. Metadata Management: Develop and manage robust metadata frameworks and tools; ensure creation, maintenance, and accessibility of clear metadata across our critical datasets and products. Data Stewardship: Build and oversee a pragmatic data stewardship program by appointing and enabling business and technical data stewards. Facilitate the stewardship community’s engagement in managing data definitions, resolving data quality issues, and promoting ownership of key assets. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering, and other partners to embed governance and stewardship practices into day-to-day operations and new data product development. Coaching & Enablement: Mentor, train and empower an organization focused on governance, stewardship, and metadata best practices. Evangelize data maturity for Data Solutions across the department. Internal Communication: Provide clear updates on data governance initiatives, stewardship effectiveness, and data maturity goals to Data Solutions and Product leadership. Continuous Innovation: Seek and drive adoption of new approaches, technologies, and frameworks to evolve data governance capabilities. What We're Looking For Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience 12+ years’ experience in data governance, product management, or data management, with direct experience in metadata management and/or data stewardship Demonstrated ability to build and evolve data governance frameworks Deep understanding of data lifecycle management, data modeling, and best practices for metadata and documentation Hands-on experience with data cataloging, lineage tracking, and stewardship program management Proven leadership and team development skills in a cross-functional, product-driven environment Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder engagement abilities Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills; experience making data-driven decisions Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. The budgeted salary range for this position in the states of Connecticut and New York is $147,200 - $184,000.
