About The Position

We are looking to add a Director of Cybersecurity to our growing Information Technology Department. As a Director of Cybersecurity, you will be responsible for overseeing the creation, execution, and administration of the organization's overall cyber defense plan. The ideal candidate will possess an extensive comprehension of informational technology and operational technology systems, with the goal of safeguarding our data assets and industrial control systems. We are looking for an individual who has robust leadership capabilities, technical knowledge, and experience in addressing the distinct obstacles that arise from converging IT and OT security measures. This is an on-site role that will directly support our IT operations at our Austin, Texas office.

Requirements

  • Ability to stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends and threats.
  • Experience with both IT and OT security, including knowledge of industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA, and other OT environments.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing comprehensive cybersecurity strategies.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards.
  • Exceptional knowledge of network security, endpoint protection, identity and access management, and data protection.
  • Experience with security incident response, risk management, and vulnerability management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • SIEM, EDR and SOC tools/oversight.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT security, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, GICSP).
  • Strong project management experience.
  • Zero Trust architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a comprehensive cybersecurity plan for both IT and OT domains.
  • Oversee security measures to safeguard organizational assets such as networks, systems, and data.
  • Manage the security incident response workflow from preparation to post-incident analysis.
  • Perform risk and vulnerability assessments to pinpoint potential threats and weaknesses.
  • Collaborate with various teams to embed cyber security practices in business operations.
  • Ensure adherence to industry-specific standards and regulations.
  • Conduct security audits and evaluations to assess control effectiveness and identify improvements.
  • Keep up to date with new cybersecurity threats and trends to preemptively counteract risks.
  • Guide and train the cybersecurity team to promote ongoing learning and professional growth.
  • Build and sustain relationships with external entities, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Own and manage the information security budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support organizational risk priorities.
  • Develop and lead security awareness training programs that educate and engage employees across the broader organization.
  • Oversee third-party and vendor risk management, ensuring external partners meet the organization's security standards.
  • Prepare and deliver regular executive-level reporting on the organization's risk posture to the SVP of Operations.
  • Drive cloud security strategy and governance, ensuring secure design and operations across cloud environments.
