About The Position

As a Director on the Corporate Communications team, you will lead strategic internal communications initiatives that enhance Capital One’s reputation and support key business objectives. You’ll be a strategist, performer, and people leader - managing high-impact programs, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and working with internal and external partners to deliver creative and effective communication strategies. This position requires exceptional leadership, judgment, teamwork, and results focus. An open mind and a passion for finding creative new ways to solve problems and deliver results are essential to the success of this role.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or military experience
• At least 8 years of communications experience
• This position requires exceptional judgment, an ability to build relationships at senior-levels in a highly matrixed environment, and a sustained focus on delivering results.
• Creative problem-solving, an ability to read the data and the room, and a passion for storytelling are all critical to success in this role.
• Empathy, teamwork and a sense of humor are essential.

Nice To Haves

• 9+ years of experience in public relations or communications, ideally within industries such as financial services, technology, or consumer brands

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic advisor to senior-level internal leaders and partners on communications initiatives.
• Lead planning and execution of data-backed, integrated internal communications campaigns aligned with enterprise and line-of-business priorities.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Leverage data to evaluate results, extract insights and optimize future programs
• Oversee team operations, including budgeting and development of best practices.
• Stay informed about industry trends to inform and enhance communication strategies
