About The Position

SecurityScorecard is seeking a highly motivated and strategic Director of Corporate Communications to lead our global communication efforts and safeguard our brand reputation. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the cybersecurity landscape and a proven track record of managing complex corporate narratives. This role involves developing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with our business goals, managing executive visibility, and overseeing all external PR and internal communications. You will be responsible for translating our sophisticated technical achievements into compelling stories for the media, investors, and the general public.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in corporate communications or PR, with at least 5 years specifically covering the cybersecurity or SaaS industry.
  • Storytelling: Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a mastery of translating complex technical "cyber-speak" into clear, engaging narratives for a non-technical audience.
  • Multimedia Proficiency: Experience overseeing the production of digital content, including executive-level videos, podcasts, and social media campaigns.
  • Media Network: A proven track record of placing stories in major outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and TechCrunch.
  • Leadership: Strong experience in building and managing high-performing teams and overseeing external PR agencies.
  • Agility: The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Vision: Lead the creation and implementation of a global corporate communications roadmap that enhances SecurityScorecard’s position as the definitive leader in cybersecurity ratings.
  • Media Relations: Build and maintain high-level relationships with top-tier business, tech, and trade journalists to secure consistent, high-impact coverage.
  • Executive Positioning: Act as a strategic advisor to the C-suite, managing speaking engagements, thought leadership articles, and media training for key executives.
  • Crisis Management: Develop and maintain a robust crisis communications playbook; lead the rapid-response team to mitigate reputational risks as they arise.
  • Internal Communications: Collaborate with People Strategy to ensure transparent, engaging, and consistent messaging to our global workforce, reinforcing our award-winning culture.
  • Content Integration: Work closely with the Editorial Cybersecurity Journalist team to ensure technical content is leveraged effectively for broader corporate storytelling and social media strategies.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of communication programs, including sentiment analysis and share of voice.
