Director of Content Development The Director of Content Development produces and supports the delivery of e-learning risk management and insurance content designed for professional, adult learners across multiple product lines including our core designation programs, CEU continuing education courses, and pre-licensing courses for producers and adjusters. This role facilitates the timely and accurate delivery of course materials by transforming topic guidance into engaging e-learning courses and true-to-life simulations, branching scenarios, and case studies in a timely manner and in accordance with strict production deadlines. To execute this role, this individual must effectively contribute to the production and refinement of written and digital multimedia learning assets in a fast-paced environment. This includes leveraging digital authoring programs and AI tools and AI-generated outputs to streamline production processes and support the creation and enhancement of educational materials such as text, graphics, videos, interactions, assessment elements, and other multimedia components. This role is an individual contributor, with no direct reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least five years of experience supporting content development, e-learning programs, educational production, publishing, or similar operational environments for adult learners.
  • Experience using AI tools and outputs to support the development of e-learning materials.
  • Ability to manage multiple timelines and coordinate detailed processes with accuracy.
  • Familiarity with authoring and design tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate (and other Adobe tools), Canva, HeyGen, Vyond, or similar programs.
  • Submission of a digital portfolio or a curated link to work samples showcasing proficiency in e-learning development and multimedia creation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Embrace role in team processes.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Comfort adapting to evolving production processes, demands, and new technologies.
  • Ability to work both independently and within team environments for extended periods.
  • Writing and graphic design: Skills to create educational assets that translate complex topics into accessible content.
  • E-learning development: Expertise in end-to-end e-learning development, including storyboarding, simulation building, and creating interactive branching scenarios.
  • Digital literacy: Aptitude for rapidly learning, evaluating, and adopting emerging technologies, AI authoring tools, and multimedia software.
  • Flexibility: Ability to pivot seamlessly between changing priorities, tight deadlines, and evolving production workflows.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within and across cross-functional teams.
  • Facilitation: Comfort guiding project discussions, eliciting technical knowledge from subject matter experts, and championing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Communication: Aptitude for interpreting guidance, conveying instructions, and ensuring alignment across production teams.
  • Time management: Ability to engage in multiple complex project timelines simultaneously and strictly adhere to production deadlines while maintaining high standards of accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop risk management and insurance educational content for online delivery, which will include producing a variety of multimedia learning assets.
  • Storyboard learning modules, videos, branching scenarios, and simulations, and utilize authoring tools to fully develop these assets.
  • Develop supplemental course materials that test and enhance student comprehension.
  • Utilize AI to assist with and enhance the development of e-learning materials.
  • Contribute to the improvement of production processes by identifying opportunities to responsibly integrate AI and emerging technologies into existing workflows.
  • Serve on instructional design, product development, and software testing teams.
  • Identify and champion ways to continuously improve content creation and delivery in response to evolving customer needs.
