About The Position

The Director role at Palm Tree is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing client engagements, managing teams, and providing strategic direction. Directors play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality financial and operational insights, guiding clients through complex challenges, and driving the firm’s growth. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related fields is required.
  • 12+ years of relevant professional experience in financial transaction advisory services, private equity, consulting, investment banking, restructuring, corporate/portco finance, or FP&A.
  • Proven ability to manage junior team members and deliver high-quality client outputs.
  • Proven ability to grow and scale a service line in a professional services environment.
  • An active book of business or private equity relationships that can convert into revenue.
  • and a willingness to participate in and drive business development.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and project management skills.
  • Proactive, motivated, and self-starter attitude.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA) and certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA) are highly preferred but not required 45.
  • Experience with BI tools or data visualization platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee multiple client engagements, ensuring the delivery of actionable solutions across financial, operational, and transactional challenges.
  • Provide strategic guidance to clients, including private equity firms and C-level executives, on financial transformations, growth strategies, and operational improvements.
  • Develop and implement financial processes, reporting structures, and business strategies for clients experiencing growth or transition.
  • Deliver high-impact client deliverables, such as Quality of Earnings reports, financial models, and board-level presentations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering trust and long-term relationships.
  • Manage and mentor junior and mid-level team members, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture.
  • Ensure the quality and timeliness of work produced by the team, maintaining Palm Tree’s high standards of excellence.
  • Support internal training initiatives and share best practices across the firm.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including client relationship management and proposal development.
  • Identify opportunities for growth within existing client accounts and new markets.
  • Participate in firm-building initiatives, such as talent acquisition, process improvement, and thought leadership.
