The Director, Clinical Pharmacy is responsible for the operational leadership and management of all clinical pharmacy services and functions across UCI Health hospitals and clinics. The incumbent serves as a recognized subject matter expert and provides authoritative professional leadership for systemwide clinical pharmacy services, ensuring the safe, high quality, and cost-effective use of medications across the continuum of care. This role maintains accountability for the tactical and strategic planning of clinical pharmacy services in coordination with leadership, and directs departmental activities to achieve quality, service, and productivity objectives, including the standardization of policies and procedures, quality assurance, drug formulary management, revenue generation, and cost savings across the health system. The Director is responsible for the selection, training, performance management, and professional development of all assigned clinical pharmacy coworkers, actively participates in coworker mentorship and the education of pharmacy residents and interns, and ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, including the California Board of Pharmacy, The Joint Commission, California Department of Public Health, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and USP 795, 797, and 800 standards. This position provides direct oversight, exercising wide latitude of authority in managing systemwide clinical pharmacy functions with limited oversight.
