About The Position

Overview: Guides the activities of Children’s Miracle Network fundraising team including campaigns, programs and related events. Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines. Job Description Summary: Organizes and oversees fundraising events and community initiatives, collaborating with volunteers, hospital staff, administration, and sponsors to advance the mission of Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Builds relationships with and solicits contributions from annual individual and corporate donors. Job Description: Essential Functions: Represents Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation and NCH, protects the mission, and projects a positive image of the hospital and its related entities to the community leaders associated with our major events. Collaborates with the planned and major giving efforts of Nationwide Children's Hospital Foundation and develops and implements specific strategies or activities for the cultivation, involvement and solicitation for planned or major gifts. Provides management, strategic direction and practical oversight of special events. Recruits and fosters relationships with volunteers who serve on event committees. Produces print and publicity materials for the events. Manages the daily workload of one Assistant Director who coordinates, supports and assists with the development, management and production of special events. Assists with the preparation and monthly tracking of event budgets.

Requirements

  • Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy.
  • Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, required.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be comfortable with people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Must be equally comfortable with public speaking and one-on-one communication.
  • Demonstrated personal initiative, devotion to hospital mission and on-going personal education and development.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to plan, organize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to be a team player and display diplomacy/political savvy.
  • Ability to be entrusted with personal and confidential information and make ethical decisions.
  • Three years of professional fund-raising experience with a successful track record of soliciting individual and corporate gifts, managing special events, and working with volunteer committees, required.

  • Master’s Degree in related field, preferred.
