Requirements

  • Prefer a Bachelor's Degree in the field of -- Marketing, Business, or related field of study
  • More than 7 years of experience in Category Management
  • More than 7 years of experience in team leadership
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Business suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Nielsen, Space Planning software, Power BI
  • Proficiency in Nielsen Syndicated Data, and shelf management software and principle
  • The ability to take projects from concept to release
  • The ability to develop trusting business partnerships across cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading the application of category management principles across the team to identify customer, consumer insights to strategically position company and our retail partners for success.
  • Lead the team in the development of category management plans and presentations for key customers using multiple data sources, and present findings to appropriate teams, customers in support of business plans.
  • Provide strategic insight, thought leadership and alignment with Sales and Marketing to develop customer specific category building plans.
  • Lead the assigned channels team and provide strategic direction for category insights, merchandising standards, and space planning.
  • Engage in top-to-top customer negotiations and joint business planning that lead to increases in sales, item distribution and space.
  • Proactively direct the sales planning process to identify trends and review key indicators, track opportunity gaps and highlight causal factors.
  • Lead driving category management principles across the business to differentiate the Company from the competition to attain increased distribution, space and displays, resulting in increased sales and profit.
  • Facilitate the collaboration with sales team leads and key retailer’s that provide supporting documentation to create efficient and functional category schematics.
  • Lead the development of reports and charts, such as ranking, efficient assortment, days of supply, and space vs. sales, to assist in the designing and presentation of schematics
