About The Position

Roswell Park Care Network has an exciting new opportunity for a Director, Business Operations/Revenue Cycle Management role open with our Administrative Team located in Williamsville, NY. JOB SUMMARY Responsible for leading and optimizing the end-to-end revenue cycle and revenue integrity functions of the organization. This role oversees authorization, coding, billing, denial management, and front-end revenue capture processes, ensuring alignment between pre-service, point-of-service, and post-service operations. This leader is accountable for revenue cycle performance, process standardization, regulatory compliance, and financial optimization across the organization. Serves as the strategic and operational authority for revenue integrity and partners closely with practice leadership, finance, and clinical teams to drive measurable improvement in cash flow, net revenue realization, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Healthcare Administration, Finance, or related field)
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive revenue cycle leadership experience
  • Experience overseeing multi-functional revenue cycle teams
  • Deep expertise in healthcare revenue cycle operations, preferably in oncology or complex specialty care
  • Strong understanding of authorization processes and payer policy
  • Demonstrated success reducing denial rates and improving net revenue realization
  • Advanced analytical and financial acumen
  • Experience integrating front-end and back-end revenue cycle processes
  • Strong leadership and change management capability
  • Ability to influence cross-functional leaders without direct authority

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience with oncology or high-cost drug environments strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive-level oversight of authorization, coding, billing, and denial management functions.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators including charge lag, clean claim rate, denial rate, net collection rate, days in AR, and authorization accuracy.
  • Drive revenue cycle performance improvement initiatives aligned with organizational financial goals.
  • Lead root cause analysis of denial trends and implement sustainable corrective action plans.
  • Establish and standardize front-end registration, eligibility verification, insurance coordination, and guarantor verification processes.
  • Develop clear performance expectations and quality standards for pre-service and point-of-service revenue capture activities.
  • Partner with practice operational leadership to ensure consistent execution of front-end workflows.
  • Monitor front-end error rates and their downstream financial impact.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce preventable denials caused by registration and eligibility errors.
  • Partner with Finance leadership to reconcile net revenue performance, identify variances, and optimize reimbursement.
  • Monitor payer trends, reimbursement changes, and regulatory updates impacting revenue.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting efforts related to revenue cycle performance.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Work closely with Senior Practice Administrators to ensure operational alignment.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Technology Development to optimize system configuration, automation, reporting, and workflow efficiency.
  • Partner with clinical leadership to ensure documentation integrity and coding accuracy.
  • Engage compliance leadership on audit findings and corrective action planning.
  • Recruit, develop, and evaluate revenue cycle leadership and staff.
  • Establish clear accountability structures and performance standards.
  • Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making and operational discipline.
  • Build internal capability to reduce reliance on external vendors where feasible.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS, payer, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee audit preparedness and remediation efforts.
  • Develop policies and procedures governing revenue cycle and front-end financial processes.
