Job Summary: The Director, Business Management Client Services , is responsible for overseeing financial operations and reporting for a portfolio of high net worth (HNW) clients. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, exceptional client service, and smooth day-to-day operations. In addition to managing client relationships, the supervisor leads a team of Business Managers, ensures compliance with firm standards, adherence to business management processes, supports strategic planning, and helps drive business growth through data analysis, reporting, and team development. Essential Job Functions for this role include: Primary Focus: Operational excellence + standardization + performance oversight Scope of Responsibility: Oversees delivery quality across multiple Business Managers and teams Owns Business Management standards, SOPs, and service consistency Drives performance management, KPIs, and delivery discipline Leads capacity planning and portfolio optimization Provides operational reporting and insights to senior leadership Span of Influence (vs. Control assuming the Business Managers report to the Partner): Indirect oversight of 5–12 Business Managers Visibility across 50–150+ client relationships Decision Authority: Business Manager process and client reporting standards, workflows, and delivery expectations Business Manager portfolio capacity thresholds and allocation recommendations Business Manager performance management and coaching direction Recommends Business Manager hiring based on capacity data Key Success Measures: Consistency and quality of client delivery across teams Capacity utilization and portfolio balance Reduction in delivery risk/errors/rework Adoption of standard practices Strength of operational reporting and insights
