Peraton is currently seeking a highly regarded Business Development Director with a proven ability to identify and grow new business within the Department of Defense Fourth Estate. The Fourth Estate comprises approximately 30+ Department of Defense agencies and field activities that are not part of the military branches or combatant commands. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of success in developing the market and pipelines to support identifying and winning new business, leading business development teams in capturing targeted programs in the Enterprise IT, Digital Solutions and Mission Applications/Engineering sectors. This position spans the spectrum across the Fourth Estate portfolio to include all the entities that support the market. It is critical for the candidate to have current contacts and established relationships within the Systems Integration, IT, and mission solution communities across the OSD, DISA and DCMA organizations and customers. Primary Responsibilities Identifying, developing and leading opportunity maturation and pursuit, to include management and execution through qualification and capture Thrive in an environment where they are responsible for the management and execution of the full life-cycle process across multiple simultaneous pursuits bringing them into qualified opportunities for capture and through proposal, ready for transition to execution. Client engagement is a requirement. Identify gaps and emerging requirements, perform market and economic analysis, conduct business intelligence, design and execute customer engagement plans, shaping win themes, and work hand in hand with our marketing and communications teams Exercise sound judgment within broadly defined practices and policies; regularly interact with all levels of management, functional POCs, staff, and customers; and display a high degree of tact and diplomacy. Excel at multi-tasking, familiarity with Peraton’s business development process and practices, business and technical vision; strategic thinking; analytical presentation and problem solving skills; the ability to gain internal support; and the ability to establish and maintain a solid working relationship with technical staff, managers, and peers. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
