About The Position

Yext (NYSE: YEXT) is the leading brand visibility platform, built for a world where discovery and engagement happen everywhere — across AI search, traditional search, social media, websites, and direct communications. Powered by over 2 billion trusted data points and a suite of integrated products, Yext provides brands the clarity, control, and confidence to perform across digital channels. From real-time insights to AI-driven recommendations and execution at scale, Yext turns a brand's digital presence into a competitive advantage, which is only possible through our team of innovators and enthusiastic collaborators. Yext is seeking a high-impact Director of Billing and Revenue Systems to lead and transform our global billing and revenue technology landscape. Reporting to the VP of Enterprise Technology and Operations, this role is a unique hybrid of strategic leadership and individual technical execution. You will be the primary architect of our Quote-to-Cash transformation, ensuring our systems—specifically Zuora Billing and Revenue—are optimized for our complex B2B enterprise business while remaining agile enough to support B2C motions. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader who doesn't just manage systems, but constantly questions if we are on the right tools for Yext’s future.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in financial systems and revenue operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a fast-paced, public SaaS environment.
  • Deep, expert-level experience configuring and optimizing Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue (RevPro). You should be comfortable diving into the details of the system as an individual contributor while simultaneously leading the team.
  • Proven track record supporting complex B2B enterprise contracts alongside higher-volume B2C billing motions.
  • Experience leading a major system transformation or "re-implementation" to fix technical debt and improve scalability.
  • Advanced proficiency with Salesforce (CPQ), NetSuite, and Avalara.
  • Strong foundational understanding of US GAAP and ASC 606 Revenue Recognition.
  • A natural inclination to research industry trends and a "build vs. buy" mentality when evaluating the next generation of Yext’s financial tools.
  • Ability to present complex technical roadmaps to C-suite executives and translate accounting requirements into technical specifications for developers.
  • Strong understanding of business operations, particularly the "Lead-to-Cash" process and its technical dependencies.
  • Ability to translate complex technical requirements into business-friendly language for stakeholders at all levels.
  • Leadership experience with a proven ability to partner cross-functionally and on an international, cross-cultural basis.
  • Degree in Management Information Systems, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the multi-year vision for billing and revenue systems. Evaluate our current tech stack and lead the transformation of how we utilize our systems to support complex subscription models and high-volume transactions.
  • Act as the internal subject matter expert for Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue. Proactively identify system gaps, evaluate emerging technologies, and ensure Yext remains on the cutting edge of financial tech.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of systems analysts, fostering a culture of technical excellence and business-centric problem solving.
  • Serve as the strategic bridge between Revenue Accounting, IT, Business Applications, and GTM teams to prioritize requirements and deliver seamless cross-functional integrations.
  • Lead the end-to-end lifecycle for system enhancements, from facilitating complex requirements gathering sessions with Finance and GTM stakeholders to architecting technical designs; perform hands-on data validation and system testing to ensure logic aligns with both accounting policy and data integrity standards.
  • Drive radical efficiency across the Lead-to-Cash lifecycle, including advanced quoting, automated provisioning, complex invoicing, and automated revenue recognition.
  • Direct the integration of billing and revenue processes for acquisitions, ensuring data integrity and system consolidation.
  • Partner with Internal Audit to maintain a rigorous controls environment (SOX) and lead external audit support for revenue system ITGCs.
  • Collaborate with FP&A and GTM leadership to develop real-time dashboards that provide visibility into billings, churn, and revenue health.
