About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Charged with providing top notch service while delivering legal solutions to all departments and entities within this global company, the AtriCure legal group is busy and dynamic, handling myriad tasks including but not limited to transactional work, corporate governance, litigation and strategic development. The Corporate Counsel position will advise and support internal clients under supervision of department’s Senior Associate General Counsel. The Corporate Counsel will help manage complex legal matters, lead cross-functional projects, as well as develop policies and procedures, and research emerging legislation and changes in the laws applicable to the company. The ideal candidate must have the ability to interact with a variety of different departments and levels of personnel both within and outside the company. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: Responsible for global contracting responsibilities for all AtriCure entities Manages legal services surrounding day-to-day contracting needs, including template preparation and upkeep Counsels managers on the entire lifecycle of contracting, including but not limited to: negotiation, lifecycle and compliance; Negotiates many contracts directly on behalf of organizational units within the company Charged with approving new templates and revisions of current templates for use throughout the company Counsels senior managers and executives on legal matters or changes in law impacting their respective areas of responsibility, including how those changes or law may intersect with company policiesResponsible for overall contract management and legal services related to contracts for the company Stays up-to-date on changes in laws and regulations applicable to AtriCure, especially those groups to which the attorney may be assigned May assign and manage outside counsel assigned to internal projectsMay manage other departmental personnel, including other attorneys and support personnel May be assigned responsibility for providing broad legal services to a specific business organization or group ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: Regular and predictable work performance Ability to work under fast-paced conditions Ability to make decisions and use good judgement Ability to prioritize various duties and multitask as required Ability to successfully work with others Additional duties as assigned BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Juris Doctor from ABA accredited institution License to practice law in the State of Ohio or ability to motion in 10 years of experience of increasing responsibility in a law firm or comparable corporate legal department Must have experience negotiating complex contracts related to healthcare, research, or grant work Must have great attention to detail, and problem-solving/trouble-shooting skills Must have ability to work under fast-paced conditions while exhibiting good judgment Must be able to prioritize and re-prioritize various duties and multi-task as required, while clearly communicating any changes to those impactedMust be a confident, goal-oriented, self-motivated team player with a service-focused mindset; must be able to both lead and follow, as each situation may require Computer proficient with experience with Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint Must have strong verbal and written communication skills Independent worker with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges Up to 35% travel possibility PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, clinical research or other related industries Experience in employment law and employer-sponsored immigration OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Ability to regularly walk, sit, or stand as needed Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from ABA accredited institution
  • License to practice law in the State of Ohio or ability to motion in
