As our Director of Artificial Intelligence, you will be the key technology leader, orchestrating innovative AI strategies focused on developing intelligent agents and AI-powered solutions that propel our business forward. You will define, develop, and implement the roadmap for our company's AI agent technology, ensuring every composition creates competitive differentiation in the market. This role carries the strategic responsibility to identify and capitalize on emerging AI capabilities, solving complex business problems and composing new revenue opportunities. You will manage a dedicated section of AI engineers, researchers, and product specialists, guiding them to deliver production-ready AI agents capable of autonomously performing valuable tasks. Partnering closely with the CTO and product leadership, you will drive the overall vision for AI agents, operating as the go-to maestro for both internal stakeholders and external partners.

Requirements

You are an accomplished virtuoso with 5+ years of increasing and relevant experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or related technical fields, with specific expertise in autonomous agent development.
An advanced degree in computer science, artificial intelligence, or a related field is your foundational 'theory';
Deep technical mastery of modern AI instrumentation: large language models, reinforcement learning, multi-agent systems, and responsible AI practices.
A proven track record of leading 'concerts' that successfully delivered AI products to market with demonstrated business impact.
The ability to translate complex AI research 'scores' into practical, production-ready 'performances'.
Experience navigating complex 'orchestral arrangements' in a highly matrixed organization, establishing buy-in to technical approaches and executing cross-functionally.
A solid understanding of software engineering 'harmony,' MLOps, and production deployment of AI systems.
The talent to attract, retain, and develop top AI 'musicians'.
Exceptional communication skills, able to explain complex 'scores' to both technical and non-technical 'audiences'.
A strategic mind, balancing short-term 'rehearsals' with long-term 'masterpieces'.
Experience building relationships with key AI technology 'instrument makers' and research organizations.
Familiarity with the ethical 'auditions,' regulations, and industry standards related to AI agent deployment.

A Ph.D. is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as the technical visionary and strategic conductor, providing hands-on guidance for our AI agent development initiatives.
Lead and inspire our ensemble of AI engineers and researchers, empowering them to compose autonomous agents capable of performing complex tasks.
Partner with product management to identify the most compelling 'arias' where AI agents can deliver significant value to our customers.
Determine opportunities to package and commercialize our AI agent technologies as standalone products or embedded solutions.
Conduct cross-functional collaborations throughout the organization, fostering widespread adoption of AI agent technologies and best practices.
Direct the application of cutting-edge AI techniques – including large language models, reinforcement learning, and multi-agent systems – as instruments in our grand composition.
Serve as our principal spokesperson for AI agent technologies and capabilities, sharing our 'melodies' with the industry through speaking engagements and thought leadership.
Tune our AI team's capabilities to ensure reliable, trustworthy agents perform flawlessly in production environments.
Establish the 'score' for responsible AI agent development, defining standards, procedures, and accountability policies.
Cultivate and lead a technically brilliant 'section' of the orchestra, fostering high motivation and continuous excellence.
