About The Position

Assumption University’s Clinical Counseling Psychology graduate program seeks candidates for a program director and full-time, tenure-track faculty member with rank negotiable. The program is looking for an experienced professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching and mentoring graduate students to direct and teach in the master’s-degree program. The successful candidate must have a strong background in cognitive-behavioral therapy and be 3 years post licensure as a Clinical or Counseling Psychologist. Administrative experience preferred. The Clinical Counseling Psychology program is a year-around program that enrolls new cohorts of students in the summer and fall semesters. Classes are offered on campus in the late afternoon and evening. This position is a 12-month position that includes directing the program, making admission decisions, teaching, and mentoring graduate students during the fall, spring, and summer semesters. The successful candidate should also be eager to involve graduate students in their research, advise graduate students, and serve the University and the greater community. Requirements

  • Knowledge of the Licensing Board regulations for LMHCs in Massachusetts is required.
  • Applicants must have earned a doctorate in Psychology
  • Five or more years of experience teaching at the graduate level
  • Hold a license as Psychologist
  • Provide evidence of scholarship and promise of developing a research program at Assumption
  • Applicants must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the University as well as show respect for the Catholic and Assumptionist identity of Assumption University.
