About The Position

The Director of AI Strategy & Enablement will lead the development and execution of our enterprise AI strategy and roadmap - shaping how PPC Partners leverages AI to improve safety, efficiency, and decision making across all business units. As the company's inaugural AI leader, this role bridges business strategy, field operations, and technology execution, guiding our evolution from experimentation to maturity in AI adoption. Reporting to the Vice President of Business Operations, this senior individual contributor will lead efforts to integrate AI into core business systems, strengthen data capabilities, and cultivate organizational literacy and readiness. Over time, the role may expand into a formal leadership position as the AI ecosystem scales. The Director will model thought leadership, demonstrating how AI creates tangible business value while ensuring ethical, transparent, and responsible implementation across the enterprise. This is a rare opportunity to architect the foundation of an AI-enabled enterprise. The Director of AI Strategy & Enablement will lay the groundwork for how our people, data, and systems converge to unlock new possibilities - empowering our teams to work smarter, safer, and more efficiently. This role will directly shape our organization's digital evolution, setting the tone for responsible, scalable AI adoption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in technology, data, or digital transformation roles, with at least 2 years leading AI or advanced analytics initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing AI models and leading AI initiatives or data strategies within a complex, multi-division organization.
  • Proven ability to translate business challenges into AI-enabled solutions with measurable outcomes.
  • Experience overseeing or partnering on the development of enterprise data platforms, governance frameworks, or AI infrastructure.
  • Background in developing AI/ML proofs of concept, vendor evaluation, and managing pilot-to-production transitions.
  • Familiarity with Agentic AI Frameworks, large language models (LLMs), and intelligent workflow design.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence executive and operational audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Data Analytics.
  • Experience in industrial, construction, or field-based environments where technology adoption drives operational improvement.
  • Background in developing AI/ML proofs of concept, vendor evaluation, and managing pilot-to-production transitions.
  • Experience with data pipelines for AI projects, MLOps frameworks, and AI model lifecycle management (including managing AI deployment and new enhancements)
  • Ability to simplify AI implementation across the enterprise
  • Understanding of data privacy, compliance, and ethical frameworks for AI deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with IT, Business Systems, and Data Engineering to ensure enterprise data platforms support AI accessibility, scalability, and data quality.
  • Contribute to the development of a unified data architecture, including data lakes, integration pipelines, and governance frameworks.
  • Ensure that foundational data capabilities-accuracy, accessibility, and integrity-enable advanced AI and analytics initiatives.
  • Collaborate with data owners to define metadata, standards, and interoperability across platforms.
  • Drive the adoption of AI-enabled tools and capabilities across core business systems (ERP, CRM, HRIS, and project management) and workflows.
  • Lead pilot initiatives and proofs of concept that demonstrate the practical value of AI in real-world workflows.
  • Partner with vendors, product managers, and engineering teams to embed AI capabilities into existing software and develop new intelligent workflows.
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging AI platforms, generative tools, and automation technologies that align with business needs.
  • Build AI literacy and engagement across all levels of the organization through workshops, learning programs, and internal communities of practice.
  • Work with HR and L&D to embed AI-related skills into leadership development, career frameworks, and technical training programs.
  • Act as an internal evangelist and storyteller, translating complex AI concepts into accessible, business-relevant language.
  • Support the creation of an "AI Innovation Team" or Center of Excellence to accelerate adoption and scale high-impact solutions.
