Director, AI Engineering & Automation – Cybersecurity Assurance

This role plays a key part in turning that investment into real, operational impact. You will own the build-out of automation and AI-enabled capabilities that strengthen customer trust and unlock growth by enabling Cybersecurity Assurance to execute faster, cover more scope, and operate more consistently. The role focuses on applying automation and AI across core assurance activities—risk assessments, compliance, control monitoring, evidence handling, and remediation management —embedding solutions directly into day-to-day operations to create repeatable, scalable execution and better decision-making.

Requirements

10+ years industry experience within cyber security and automation
Experience building and deploying automation and/or AI-enabled solutions in production (not proofs of concept)
Strong hands-on experience with: Automation and optimization of workflow
AI tools and AI-enabled workflows (LLMs/intelligent agents) applied to real business processes
Data integration, analytics, and operational reporting
Solid understanding of cybersecurity assurance domains: risk, compliance, audit expectations, control monitoring, remediation governance
Demonstrated ability to drive delivery across multiple teams without direct authority
Comfortable operating with limited budget/tooling and making pragmatic tradeoffs to keep progress moving.
Evidence of measurable outcomes from your work (speed, scale, quality, adoption, business impact)
Success in this role is measured by delivery and impact.

Nice To Haves

Formal education in computer science, engineering, cybersecurity, or a related field
Familiarity with industry security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, SOC)
Cybersecurity, cloud, AI-related certifications
Experience working in large, complex, or global organizations

Responsibilities

Identify the highest-impact opportunities where automation and AI materially improve assurance outcomes
Build and deploy practical solutions (automation, AI workflows/agents, analytics) and drive adoption into operating rhythms
Standardize and simplify repeatable work so teams can focus on high-value judgment and stakeholder engagement
Deliver under real constraints (shared ownership, limited tooling/budget), keeping momentum and solving around blockers
Quantify impact (cycle-time improvement, effort avoided, coverage expansion, decision-quality) and iterate to scale
