About The Position

ARC-One Solutions, LLC was created in April 2020 through a partnership between two of the largest blood centers in the country, the American Red Cross and OneBlood. We at ARC-One Solutions have the privilege and responsibility to assist these organizations in fulfilling over 50% of the nation’s blood supply needs. ARC-One Solutions is creating a next-generation Blood Establishment Computer Software (BECS) platform along with an extensive series of materials designed to provide our partners with robust software that is simple to implement and supports safe, efficient, and compliant regulated blood supply chain management. The lifesaving missions of our parent companies are reflected in the quality of our work. As the manufacturer of a medical device, we operate under a strict quality system which defines best practices to facilitate optimal product safety. Once implemented, our software will process approximately 10 million products across 56 states and territories. Role Overview: The Director, Agile Release Train is a Lean-Agile leader responsible for the overall health, performance, and maturity of one or more Agile Release Trains (ARTs). This role promotes Agile values and principles by fostering systems thinking, supporting team and train commitments, leading organizational change, and modeling Lean-Agile leadership behaviors. The Director is accountable for personnel management and professional development of Scrum Masters, ensuring strong servant leadership, continuous improvement, and consistent execution across teams and trains. The base salary range for this position is $138,543-$217,711. Actual pay will be determined based upon a candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, geographic location, and may include other job-related factors such as certification(s), professional licensure, or internal equity considerations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business or related field
  • Ten (10) years leadership experience in related area (RTE, SM, PM)
  • Five (5) years of managing people
  • SAFe SPC Certification required, SAFe SM or RTE preferred
  • Experience transitioning new agile teams in a SAFe environment
  • Experience with budget management for ART, tools and operational costs
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal & written skills with the ability to communicate progress, impediments, and actions across large stakeholder groups
  • Ability to use and create dashboards and metrics to communicate ART progress
  • ALM tool experience required, Jira experience preferred.
  • Must have reliable internet connection at all times
  • Must have the ability to travel, as needed for company meetings

  • Experience working in a SaaS-based product development organization or FDA-regulated medical device environment desired

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates work for the Agile Release Train (ART); escalates impediments, manages risk, and drives continuous improvement for the ART
  • Drives cost visibility, forecasting, and optimization across the ART
  • Optimizes the flow of value through the ART by facilitating ART level cadence inclusive of: ART Syncs, ART Backlog Refinement, System Demos, Inspect and Adapt Event, Remote PI Planning
  • Works with Product Managers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, System Architect, Business Stakeholders, and customers as needed
  • Provides reporting on ART metrics and Planning Increment progress and impediments
  • Attracts, recruits, onboards, mentors, and retains capable Scrum Masters; provides career counseling and personal development
  • Evaluates performance and considers team input; provides guidance and issues corrective actions as needed
  • Partners with Transformation Coach and other leaders to set and reinforce agile team execution standards, and conduct SAFe and other trainings
  • Builds high-performing Scrum Masters; establishes mission and purpose for RTE(s) and Scrum Masters supporting the teams
  • Listens and supports teams in problem identification, root cause analysis, and decision-making
  • Eliminates impediments and evolve systems and practices in support of Lean-Agile development
  • Exercises discretion in team assignments, resolves issues that teams cannot handle, and implements personnel changes as needed
  • Handles vendor needs for contract scrum masters (time sheets, performance, etc.)
  • Maintains a close relationship with Scrum Masters and teams to offer value as an Agile Coach/RTE while allowing them the autonomy to solve problems independently.
