About The Position

CGI has an immediate need for a Release Train Engineer (SAFe Agile) to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced team environment supporting one of the largest customers. We take an innovative approach to supporting our client, working side-by-side in an agile environment using emerging technologies. We partner with 15 of the top 20 banks globally, and our top 10 banking clients have worked with us for an average of 26 years!. This role is located at a client site in Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable. We are seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead and support Agile Release Train (ART) execution within a SAFe environment. This role serves as a servant leader and Agile coach, championing Lean-Agile principles and ensuring alignment with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). The RTE will facilitate Program Increment (PI) planning and execution, coordinate cross-team collaboration, and remove impediments that impact delivery. This individual plays a key role in driving continuous improvement, managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring consistent value delivery across multiple Agile teams. Success in this position requires strong facilitation skills, the ability to navigate organizational complexity, and experience coaching teams and stakeholders in Agile best practices. The RTE will also leverage performance metrics and data insights to guide decision-making and optimize ART outcomes.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Deep, hands-on experience with SAFe, Lean, and Agile frameworks
  • Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and XP methodologies
  • Proven ability to facilitate key ART ceremonies such as: PI Planning Scrum of Scrums System Demos Inspect & Adapt workshops
  • Experience coordinating cross-team dependencies and managing complex delivery environments
  • Skilled at identifying, tracking, and mitigating risks and impediments
  • Strong conflict resolution and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Experience coaching Agile teams and business stakeholders
  • Ability to translate Lean-Agile concepts into practical, actionable guidance
  • Strong communication skills, including executive-level updates on PI objectives, risks, and milestones
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret performance metrics and drive continuous improvement
  • Excellent organizational skills and structured problem-solving approach
