About The Position

This position is responsible for leading and executing Kraus-Anderson's Project Planning and Development strategy within the Mission Critical market sector, while also playing a key role in shaping and scaling the firm's broader Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Advisory Services platform. The Director will leverage deep expertise in real estate strategy, brokerage, digital infrastructure, and client engagement to advance KA's advisory-to-execution model, focused on converting early-stage advisory engagements into construction projects awarded without competition.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture and/or Business Development, Marketing, Public Relations or related coursework
  • Minimum ten years related experience
  • Understand the duties of a Construction Executive, Director of Operations, and Project Manager
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, 365 Suite)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals
  • Ability to maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Ability to possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others
  • Ability to travel as needed to serve market sector interests
  • Valid Driver's License, ability to maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record, and ability to adhere to KA Motor Vehicle Policy.

  • Strong understanding of technical delivery including MEP, site risk, and infrastructure constraints.
  • Demonstrated success leading early-stage client engagements from planning through execution.
  • Ability to synthesize market trends and advisory insight into actionable delivery strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Works in direct collaboration with the Vice President, Pre-Construction Services, Director of Operations (DOO), Construction Executive (CE) and/or market sector leadership, as applicable, to align with KA’s growth strategy
  • Identifies potential customers, business partners and, develops strategic relationships with architects and other industry stakeholders.

  • Mission Critical Development & Strategic Advisory:
  • Lead the planning and positioning of mission critical projects (data centers, cloud infrastructure, hyperscale/edge facilities).
  • Collaborate with clients to define site selection, power/utilities analysis, MEP strategy, and development phasing.
  • Translate strategic plans into executable delivery models through KA's integrated platform.
  • Brokerage-Informed Client Advisory:
  • Serve as a consultative advisor to clients during early-stage real estate decision-making.
  • Assist clients with asset repositioning, leasing strategies, cost-benefit assessments, and portfolio planning.
  • Business Development and Client Growth:
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities in Mission Critical and other CRE sectors.
  • Actively engage brokers, owner representatives, institutional investors, and developers.
  • Lead proposal development, interview strategy, and internal pursuit teams.
  • Platform Development and Standardization:
  • Contribute to the development of KA’s CRE Advisory Services framework including GTM strategy, intake process, feasibility templates, pricing, and conversion tracking.
  • Support internal alignment between Facility Consulting, Strategic Facility Planning, Development Advisory & Investment, Predesign, and Preconstruction Services.
  • Leadership and Strategic Growth:
  • Represent KA in national and regional market forums and industry associations.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions to grow the firm’s advisory footprint.
  • Provide mentorship to future advisory team members and develop internal standards for advisory service delivery.
