About The Position

Drive the next generation of Supply Chain Labor Optimization at Fortune #1 scale. As the Director, Advanced Analytics, you will lead the product vision for Walmart’s end‑to‑end labor planning ecosystem—bridging complex data science with real‑world operational needs across hundreds of distribution and fulfillment centers. You’ll guide the modernization from manual spreadsheets to advanced, optimization‑powered platforms, enabling smarter labor decisions, lower cost‑to‑serve, and a dramatically improved associate experience. About the Supply Chain Advanced Analytics Team Walmart’s Advanced Analytics organization partners deeply with Supply Chain Operations to modernize how labor is planned, deployed, and optimized across the enterprise. Our team builds intelligent, automated solutions—ranging from long‑range labor planning (SCLO) to enterprise scheduling (Polaris) to real‑time performance tools (Win The Day). We combine human‑centered design, data governance, AI‑driven insights, and operational expertise to help our networks deliver predictable service, improve associate outcomes, and recover millions in labor efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Technical proficiency in SQL, Power BI, and data modeling, with curiosity to grow alongside evolving technologies.
  • Experience leading digital/tech product portfolios, including roadmap ownership, MVP development, and product lifecycle management.
  • Ability to align stakeholders across competing priorities and influence through data‑backed narratives.
  • Strong operator mindset with an understanding of warehouse or supply‑chain workflows.
  • Proven success driving modernization of legacy systems into scalable, modular, API‑first platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, or related field and 5 years' experience in data analytics or related field OR 7 years' experience in data analytics or related field.
  • 4 years' supervisory experience OR experience leading cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

  • Own the multi‑year roadmap for Supply Chain Labor Optimization (SCLO) while leading the transition of 361+ active sites to the Polaris enterprise scheduling platform.
  • Oversee development of modular, API‑ready systems that support varied planning scenarios—from staffing logic to cost modeling.
  • Lead integration of Generative AI to deliver contextual labor insights, automate decision paths, and resolve operational bottlenecks.
  • Direct the implementation of optimization engines and production‑ready algorithms that generate associate‑level labor recommendations.
  • Establish strong data governance, including semantic layers and structured labor datasets, to ensure accuracy and interpretability.
  • Analyze leader overrides and operational constraints to refine future model outputs and close the loop on continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to VPs and Senior Directors across Operations, Engineering, and HR.
  • Champion operator‑first product design that reduces manual burden, improves schedule predictability, and strengthens associate experience.
  • Drive measurable financial impact—including turnover reduction and recovery of hundreds of millions in labor opportunities.
