The Director of Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable oversees the end-to-end AP and AR processes for the CooperCompanies North America legal entities. This role ensures timely and accurate processing of payment and collections, maintain strong internal controls, drives process improvements, support strategic initiatives, drive the strategy for purchase order management, invoice-to-pay and credit-to-cash processes while collaborating cross-functionally to optimize working capital, vendors relationship and customer experience.

  • Oversee daily operations of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures and controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness and compliance.
  • Lead and manage the AP and AR teams, including hiring, training, performance management, foster career development, coaching and mentoring.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy and continuous improvement based on actionable data and commitment to SLAs and KPI objectives.
  • Develop, maintain, monitor and improve KPIs, SLAs, metrics and dashboards with the business.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize, streamline, improve and automate processes, including the evaluation and development of digital solutions and ensure team readiness to receive technology.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with internal and external customers to ensure efficient payment and collection cycles.
  • Negotiate payment terms and resolve disputes with key customers and vendors.
  • Support procurement, sales organization and business et all with financials insights and business process coordination.
  • Prepare and present reports, analysis and recommendations for senior leadership decision-making, including comprehensive visibility to actionable data.
  • Lead and coordinate strategic projects and initiatives, including process improvements, enhance reporting and analytics.
  • Analyze trends and identify opportunities for cost savings, working capital and cash flow improvements.
  • Collaborate with Treasury, Procurement, Sales and Finance teams to align process and financial operations.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX, GAAP, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field — or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and financial operations within a large international organization.
  • 10+ years in leadership roles, including 5+ years managing large AR and AP departments.
  • Demonstrated success in process improvement, automation, and change management.
  • Proven experience leading and managing cross-functional projects.
  • Familiarity with Global Business Services (GBS) operating models.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and SOX compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire, energize, and empower large teams.
  • Skilled at translating complex information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Advanced data analytics capabilities; adept at working with high-volume, multi-source data.
  • Highly organized with a track record of driving projects to successful completion.
  • Customer- and vendor-centric mindset, treating stakeholders as strategic partners.
  • Extensive experience in people management and team development.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and make sound credit decisions.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards, commercial law, bankruptcy regulations, UCC filings, and PCI compliance.
  • Proficient in interpreting credit reports and assessing financial risk.
  • Skilled in managing change and leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, matrixed environments.
  • Starting base pay for this role is between $124,335.00 and $191,284.00 per year.
  • May include cost of living adjustments.
