The Director of Accounting is responsible for managing the accounting activities for Concentra’s Centers,Onsite Clinics, and other businesses through a solid understanding of business processes, systems, andan in-depth knowledge of current generally accepted accounting principles.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university or equivalent education and experience
  • CPA required, active and in good standing
  • Customarily has at least ten or more years of professional accounting experience; some public accounting / audit experience
  • Customarily has at least four or more years of management or supervisory experience
  • Prior multi-location and multi-legal entity, joint venture experience and operational accounting integration of acquisition targets
  • Experience with Oracle eBusiness Suite and Hyperion tools (HFM, Smartview, Essbase)

  • Ability to make decisions or solve problems by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions

  • The ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential information (including HIPAA and PHI) in accordance with federal and state laws and company policies

  • System implementation experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate monthly accounting close processes and financial reporting for multiplemedical locations, internal services, administrative departments, and ancillary businesses
  • Supervise, develop, train, and retain professional accounting staff
  • Lead budget process for responsible medical locations and business units
  • Present monthly variance analysis findings to finance executive team
  • Provide financial liaison support to operational colleagues ensuring appropriate accounting of activity and meaningful analysis in support of operational strategies
  • Provide business consolidation support including technical accounting research, purchase price allocation, post-closing accounting and acquisition integration
  • Ensure compliance with current accounting controls and procedures
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes
  • Represent the accounting/finance function on cross functional teams to ensure proper controls and compliance requirements are met
  • Provide guidance and support for financial audits by liaising with external auditors
