NATURE OF WORK Responsible for assisting Drill Operator in locating drill head and drilling in accordance with blueprints. Verify locate marks and confirm location of existing facilities. Assist with clean-up and other duties as assigned. The Locater is responsible for maintaining equipment per manufacturer's specifications and safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Company will provide industry training and certifications if not already secured.
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Prior experience with Subsite or DCI locating equipment required.
  • Capacity to read and understand blueprints; knowledge of utility depths and placements; general knowledge of construction practices is required.
  • Able to work in trenches, manholes, tunnels and confined spaces and in work settings with moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Able to move in different positions - crouching, kneeling, reaching, bending and lifting 75 lbs., unassisted.
  • Abie to keep good logs and consistent reporting.
  • Willing to work overtime when required, willing to travel and to work in all-weather conditions.
  • Must get a CDL Permit within 30 days of start date.
  • Must obtain CDL within 6 months of start date.
  • Self-motivated and able to work well in groups.
  • Other duties as assigned

Nice To Haves

  • CDL is a plus.
  • Prior experience in underground fiber and coax construction a plus.
  • Prior experience in standard and high risk areas preferred.
