About The Position

In this rewarding role, you will provide individualized support, skills training, guidance, and encouragement to adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Your work will empower individuals to achieve their personal goals and increase their independence. Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to use a personal vehicle for work-related travel
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Strong communication and basic computer skills
  • Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to support others
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required
  • Experience working with diverse communities, including Hispanic/Latino families, is highly valued

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals in achieving personal goals through individualized service plans
  • Provide transportation to appointments, errands, and community activities
  • Assist with daily living activities while promoting independence and dignity
  • Encourage community participation, relationship-building, and recreational activities
  • Engage in physical activities such as walking, hiking, and community events
  • Maintain accurate documentation including daily logs, progress notes, and incident reports
  • Promote a safe, clean, and healthy home environment
  • Assist with budgeting, bill paying, and basic financial management
  • Advocate for individual rights and ensure respectful, person-centered support
  • Build trusting relationships with individuals and their families, including culturally diverse and Spanish-speaking households
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development
