About The Position
Exceptional Family Resources is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to work in the Westchester area with a high school aged young man who is non-verbal and uses facial expressions and vocalization to communicate. Family will provide new hires training on communication needs as well as eating habits. The individual is looking for a dedicated staff to assist him with gaining independence both at home and in community settings. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting with personal care, explore activities and general independence. He is a lover of all types of music. He loves going to the park as well as eating home cooked meals. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, patient, and enthusiastic. Prior experience a plus but willing to train. Reliable transportation required. Hiring for Weekend shifts with some week day shift flexibility: Saturday 12 pm - 5 pm Sunday 12 pm - 5 pm There is an ability for more hours once hired on. Individual willing to consider different schedule/shifts for the right applicant. The pay rate is $22.00 per hour. EFR is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Requirements
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Effective communication and organizational skills required.
- Flexibility with assignments and schedule required.
- Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred.
- Prior experience a plus but willing to train.
