Direct Support Professional (Afternoon Position) - Jamesville, NY
About The Position
You can make a difference in the life of someone special! Advocates is looking for a dependable and compassionate Mentor to work with a man that lives in his own home. The Mentor’s responsibility will be to promote independence by assisting him with cleaning, grocery shopping, and community involvement. The ideal candidate will have leadership skills, effective communication skills, patience, and must be reliable. Hours and days of work Part Time, 3:30p-7:30pm (Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons) Pay rate: $26.50 per hour when providing direct support. The hourly rate for indirect/training is $16 per hour. Location: Jamesville, NY Reliable transportation is required. Background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by non-profit agency. Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid email address.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and auto insurance if required for the job assigned.

- Ability to handle physical aspects of the job, including sitting, standing, using hands to reach, walk, push, or lift up to 50 pounds.

- GED or High School Diploma preferred.
